Review of Vivaburger at Viva Burger by travellingweasels

*from our pre-corona travels* I don't even want to write about VivaBurger because just thinking about that burger makes me want to hop on a plane and fly straight back to vegan Madrid (note: since then we decided to stop flying alltogether bc of the carbon footprint). Maybe even live there. Maybe straight up marry one of these burgers. Because omgoddess. This is by far the best burger I've had in my entire life - yes including all the meat ones. The texture of it is absolutely incredible and of course, the taste is out of this world. I think what I really like about it is that all vegan burgers fall into two categories: trying to mimic meat or trying to be tasty in their own right. The VivaBurger goes beyond this: it somehow manages to mimic meat but goes further and has a taste and texture that's even better. This is the future of food people. Go here for lunch, thanks to their terrace it's a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and if you go for the Menús del día you'll be able to get the evening burger for a cheaper price (plus soup/ salad and chips!)

Here are some things that we are defo gonna write to (+poke) them about: do they have any organic plant-based meals? We think there would be a market niche for that... like basically anywhere (the legal differentiation of "non-organic" and "organic" produce is basically an euphemism for "poisonous" and "a bit less poisonous"... which is an outrage! All fruit & veg (+any plant-based food) should be organic, everywhere, not just the privilege of wealthy citizens who can afford to buy the more expensive stuff). Also: were the agricultural workers that produced the plants paid well, in a fair trade fashion (and are they employed as wage labourers)? Is the restaurant a democratic workplace (a worker coop)?
