NUS FOOD HUNT! Entry 2:

Today I’m at The Tea Party, a sort of mini-restaurant located at the University Sports Center in NUS.

The dish I’m having is the Mushroom & Basil, one of the 2 vegan mains here (the other being Mushroom Aglio). It’s basically just pasta with mushrooms tossed in a simple tomato Marinara sauce, topped with basil.

Now I’ll be honest, its nothing spectacular. In fact it really tastes like something you could make by yourself at home, using the ingredients you could get at a supermarket. However, as a student, you’d probably be either too lazy to cook (or too lazy to clean up after) or pressed for time! And that’s where I personally think this place is really useful. It feels like a home cooked pasta, but you don’t have to do any of the cooking, or washing up! So it really does come in handy if u’re looking for something simple, and want to save time and effort on cooking.

At $5.80 though, I do question it’s worth. Yes it does come with a free lemonade on the side, but even then that would make it around $4.30-$4.80 or so for just the pasta, which to me is a little steep. The picture you see is an upsized version, so it’s $6.80, and even then I don’t think the portion is really a lot. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a big eater.

Nonetheless, I still do think it comes in handy especially when u’re around USC during dinner time, and at least they have some vegan options available on the menu, so give it a shot!
