Review of Roast Chicken Rice at 33 Vegetarian Food by amazinganne
๐ Here is my little battle of roast Hainanese soy chicken rice between Rice House & 33 Veg.
๐ In the search of a great vegan chicken rice, 33 Vegetarian at Ang Mo Kio nails it.
๐ The secret is in the chillie sauce
๐ This chef's sauce is spicy, sweet & tangy. It is almost like he poured lime cordial in it instead of lime juice. It is very sweet & thick.
๐ I packed this home and poured dark sauce all over the rice as take away hence the rice is brown. You need to help yourself to the dark soy sauce. I asked for the ginger sauce and was told it is only for S$6.80 Set A.
๐ The original rice is white. The rice texture is also good. There isn't any of the chicken rice taste.
๐ The chinese version using soy wrapped into a bundle us often used as the "white cut" Hainamese chicken.
๐ Both the white & roast chicken are the same, and most vegetarian stalls sell the same, it is quite standard as it comes pre packed. Haha i saw the uncle take the tofu out of the packing & chop it up. Hmm..maybe I can find the same & do it at home.
๐ This roast version is just the same deep fried and chopped up.
๐ Overall 5 stars!
๐ S$3 at 33 Veg vs S$4.50 Rice House (restaurant with dining)
