Black Dhal at Sister of Soul Richmond — Sylvia Chew's Review (Nov 26, 2019)

I had high expectations for Sister of Soul as the google reviews were quite high. Unfortunately i was pretty disappointed. First up, the dhal (has black lentils, black eyed beans, peas, sweet potatoes) was really good. Ingredients were generous but i would have preferred it to be more spicy as it was on a slightly sweeter side. The bottom half of the poppadams, however, were soaking with oil. It was so bad that i had to take extra paper towels to soak it up>< Otherwise, i would have thoroughly enjoyed this dish....
