VEGAN

Deva

Omega 3 supplement from microalgae. Quite expensive compared to other supplements $38.52 on #iherb. Worth it though, as Omega 3 types DHA and EPA is what our body utilizes. Vegan sources usually are ALA which are inefficient in converting. And this is a 100% vegan source that gives DHA and EPA directly! Capsule is a bit tough. Thanks @choyyuen for educating me about Omega 3!

choyyuen There are 3 types of omega 3 - ALA, DHA & EPA. Omega 3 from nuts and seeds are merely ALA. Our body needs to convert this ALA to DHA & EPA for usage. However, it takes much ALA to convert into little DHA & EPA. Our body may be inefficient to do such conversion. Deva nutrition offers this direct DHA & EPA formula, that's why it's more expensive. In addition, products from Deva nutrition are produced in a 100% vegan production line. After much research, I still stick to this brand. 😃Reply
herbimetal @choyyuen wow I didn’t know! Thank you so much for telling me! I think it’ll be a good choice to continue taking this then. Reply
choyyuen The capsule is indeed tough. I use a toothpick to pierce through & squeeze the oil onto my food. 😂 Deva launched a new omega 3 DHA-EPA formula with "delayed released" & its capsule is thinner.😁 You may like to check it out. 😄Reply
herbimetal @choyyuen whoa. I can chew it though it’s a bit more difficult than usual. Is it available on iHerb? Reply
choyyuen Yes, I bot from iherb. It's also Deva omega 3 DHA-EPA, the difference is it's stated "delayed released" & only 200mg each, so slightly cheaper. Capsule is thin & transparent, can see the oil. 👀Reply
herbimetal @choyyuen cool thanks I’ll look out for it next time Reply
