Review of Chocolate Gateau Cake at Real Food by amindfulmiao

By context of flavour this cake was one dimensional, its frosting tasted a lot like the cake itself which was generally bland. But that isn’t a bad thing! 🍫

Something else I look for in a chocolate cake is how moist and fluffy the sponge is – although the slice I had was coated with a crispy over baked surface, the inner part was fantastic in both measures of fluffiness and moistness.

What I appreciate about this cake is that I was able to satisfy the craving for a thick decadent chocolate cake without feeling the sugar-sweats from a cake too sweet. It’s price was a bit of a stretch for what I expected to get, but hours later I don’t feel ill or thirsty from this nice thick cake, so I reckon the price reflects a mindful choice of good ingredients by Real Food.

Chocolate cakes are a personal journey and a subjective preference, haha I encourage trying all vegan options until one sits with you!
