Dough Balls 'PizzaExpress' at PizzaExpressiluvnippon's Review (Jun 15, 2019)

Served warm, the dough balls were soft and fluffy, and they had a fragrance similar to that of freshly-baked bread.

As for the dip, when we first tried it without the dough balls, we couldn't figure out what we were eating, and we weren't sure if we liked the taste. It was only after reading the ingredients that we realised they were made with eggplants, sun-dried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar.

Together with the warm dough balls, the dip gave a slightly sweet aftertaste, but we felt the sweetness didn't quite match the dry "herb-ish" flavour of the dip.

It is a matter of personal preference, but we thought the dough balls would probably go well with extra virgin olive oil, and a little bit of salt and pepper.

S$6 for a small bowl of dip and eight tiny dough balls is rather pricey, but we felt it was acceptable restaurant pricing.

We hope Pizza Express will keep up the good work and come up with more awesome vegan dishes.
