i’ll start by apologising for not doing separate reviews for each dish, however i had too awful and too few pictures to curate separate ones. All in all, I truly can’t say it was a bad experience, it’s still probably worth a try. Perhaps I had my expectations set too high and I a so wanted to be amazed by this place cause everything on the menu sounded wonderful. I ordered an ajo blanco (not portrayed, but probably the best course of the meal), potato salad (1st captured) and the day’s special, which was fried zucchini flowers stuffed with vegan ricotta. THE -SINGLE- zucchini flower was outstanding, but for the most part, on the plate were just normal courgette fries. The sauce on the bottom was good, but tasted a lil too much like plain soy yogurt to be present in such a large quantity. Our party also ordered the japan/levante fusion miso glazed aubergine, and that was apparently delicious, the caprese (tasty tomatoes and seasonings, but flavourless ‘mozzarella’) and a carbonara which my sister could only take a couple mouthfuls of. I couldn’t try it myself because I have celiac disease, but from her description it had a strong unpleasant sulphuric aftertaste (too much kala namak salt, I suppose) and the presentation of the pasta did not make any sense. There were literally thick bacon like slices of seitan who could not in any way be eaten at once with the pasta and basil, for some reason (who the hell has ever seen basil on carbonara ?!) No pepper whatsoever (one of the only 4 ingredients in the roman pasta). The Viennetta parfait was very close to the original ice-cream based dessert, and it was nostalgic enough as it should have, I really appreciated seeing it on the menu, among the other more elaborate “nachspeisen”. As for the service, a bit too inconsistent. Walking into the place (bear in mind we got there quite late, still impeccably on time for our reservation at 9:30 pm) we didn’t feel totally welcome: the more experienced waitress wasn’t as kind as she could have been and the younger guy, though very nice, seemed a bit distracted.
