An absolute five-star gem of a #ramen, tasty and #spicy and served piping hot, with noodles of an excellent texture, #bambooshoots, #mushroom, and this juicy, puffy #tofu 😋 Would totally get this again. The problem was the service though. They leave you waiting forever, even though there are clearly vacant tables inside. The staff appear at sixes and sevens and everything seems to come back to the manager of the branch, which becomes the bottleneck. That part was exasperating 😬

This is the only vegan / veggie ramen on Shoryu’s menu but you can choose to add spicy vegan mayo to it. The broth was really rich and comforting, the noodles were nice (and they ask how much you want them cooked so you can state if you prefer a harder texture). The tofu was nice but could have been improved by some seasoning. More vegetables (like extra broccoli, or sweetcorn / pak choi) would work well. The bamboo wasn’t cooked enough for me and it was very crunchy.
