The Crispy Jackfruit Carnitas is one of several items on Serrano Salsa's vegan menu. Very fresh and tasty. At $4.75 I don't consider it a good value unless you're a light eater. Still worth a try for the great flavours. The store is small and set up mainly for takeout but there is a nice sidewalk dining area right by Isham Park in good weather. The staff at Serrano Salsa will gladly accept your reusable containers and bags so don't forget to bring them. Otherwise, they only provide disposables and destroying the planet isn't kind to our animal friends!

The Vegan Burrito is part of Serrano Salsa's newish vegan menu. It comes with tasty rice and beans (no lard or animal substances) and your choice of vegan chorizo, seitan, tofu or jackfruit carnitas. At $14.99 it is pricey but is quite large and filling. Make sure not to confuse this with the Veggie Lover's Burrito, which is filled with lettuce, pico de gallo, vegan cheese, sour cream and guacamole and costs an extra $3.99 for vegan protein. This happened to me so I ended paying more than planned! Both options are tasty, though. The space is small and is mainly set up for takeout but there is a cool sidewalk dining area in good weather. Otherwise, they only provide disposables for both dine-in/takeout, and destroying the planet isn't kind to our animal friends.
