this was the only disappointment at Hazel and Jade, an amazing #veganbakery in hillcrest. I shared this #vegancookie with a friend, and we both agreed it was not peanutbuttery or chocolatey enough. It was also pretty small for 5$ and kind of crumbly. I will still go back here, again and again, just won't get a cookie. this #lemonbar was a little less sweet than the other treats from hazel & jade, but still #sweettooth approved. I did manage to share this with a friend, loved it. I don't think I would buy this one again, but was glad I tried it. it's also #glutenfree amazing #veganbakery in hillcrest. they are closed on mondays. definitely worth at least one visit if you are ever in San Diego. i would be broke and overweight if i lived near this bakery 😁 i'm trying to figure how I can get down there again before I leave town. think #veganthanksgiving dinner wrapped in a flaky #vegancroissant 😋😋😋 ultimate #comfortfood there were even cranberries in there. it was half the price of the disappointing thanksgiving sandwich from the other day and twice as much food. the other day was saturday. today is tuesday 26 nov #bringbackdates I believe there was stuffing in there also. I have nothing but good things to say about this #cinnamonroll and this #veganbakery. where have you been on my life…? 🥰🥰🥰 I predict I will be in a sugar coma shortly after noon. their #vegancinnamonrolls are large and gooey. A little crispy on top and chewy on the bottom. They allowed me to use my own container, placing the items on a piece of tissue for health reasons, but letting me put them in my bag. I always appreciate that. There is a very large selection of cookies, pastries, bars, croissants, . . . They do custom cakes. If I have time, I will go back tomorrow before I head back to encinitas. they are in Hillcrest, a great place to walk around and enjoy the unique shops to work off all the pastries you just ate. #100percentplantbased #supportlocal #supportsmallbusiness and san diego looking festive by night 🌃 almost forgot . . . #sweettooth approved

The coffee was too strong for me, and I’m not sure if maybe more cream or sugar would have made it more tasty, but even after letting the melted ice dilute the bitterness, it just tasted bland. I love a good coffee with a good pastry (and their pastries are fantastic), but I don’t think I’ll give their coffees a try anymore. This place has a little place to sit outside, but nothing really special or tranquil about it, so I only get my pastries here to-go. #sandiego

I gave this 4 stars in taste, but I could see a potential 5 stars if I heated it up in a toaster oven and get this soft and warm with melted bits of cheese. We got this to-go, but even when it was first given to us in a box with other pastries we ordered, everything was cold. I would get this again, but only if they’re willing to heat it up, or to enjoy at home. #sandiego

Got this to-go to enjoy at the beach. It would have tasted better after being heated up, but this comes in wrapped in foil, so it stayed a little warm. It was good. This is my favorite bakery in San Diego, and I make it a point to come here every visit. My non-vegan friends and family love it too. This place even made a lasting impression on one of my friends who commented a few years ago that baked goods cannot be veganized and taste the same. He was blown away after I gave him a pastry from this place. He didn’t make that comment anymore on this visit and asked me to pick something up for him from here, even though he’s currently fasting. #sandiego
