The menu doesn’t list the ingredients in this drink, but I couldn’t pass it up, considering that this was offered to me as a free reward. I only knew that there was ginger in it by the name, and I envisioned that the Sunshine was for something citrusy, like a lemon or orange. And then when I got it and saw that it was a beautiful bright orange-yellow, I was guessing pineapple and orange. I was so excited because even though I’ve never had this combo, I could imagine what a fantastic combination that would be. Needless to say, I was really disappointed on my first sip and immediately realized that it was turmeric. I do enjoy turmeric in foods (I sprinkle it on a lot of my homemade meals for its health benefits), but this was not a tasty drink at all. It was refreshing though on this very warm day because it was nice and cold with the ice, but honestly, I would have enjoyed plain ice water more than this. I should have known better by “tonic” being part of the name, that it’s medicinal, meant to be invigorating without trying to be tasty (although I’m sure some might find it tasty. It may very well be an acquired taste). I drank it all, and felt good that I was doing my body good, especially for the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, which I need for my bad knees, but this isn’t one that I would buy. If I were offered this as a free reward again, I’d take it home, or plan ahead and bring some citrus and pineapple juice to blend it with (a lot of it, to drown out the turmeric taste), so that I could see if it tastes as good as I envision. #refreshingdrink #turmeric #ginger #healthy #veganoahu #antiinflammatory #veganatthebeach

This is a rice paper wrap, which adds a really nice slightly chewy texture with a subtle taste, with a thin spread of beet hummus, a variety of greens including sprouts, shredded carrots, bell peppers, cucumber slices, and purple cabbage, and a side of sunflower tahini, dipping sauce, I would have enjoyed this more if they gave twice as much of the sauce, which was really good, but it was barely enough for one roll. And I was being very conservative with it, trying to use as little as possible, and it still felt a little too dry, like a salad with no dressing, Someone who enjoys eating raw bell peppers and carrots as is with no spread or dip would enjoy this more then I did. I saved the other half for tomorrow. The wrap was firm and sturdy while I ate it, so it’s not too messy or difficult when eating fresh, but when I got home, my other role ripped and became really delicate, so it’ll literally be a salad for me tomorrow, which I’ll enjoy with my Just Chipotle Ranch Dressing. #veganoahu #healthy #wrap #veganatthebeach #tahini

I gave this five stars on value because this was a birthday reward that they gave me, but I don’t know what the actual price is. When I got the email about this free treat, I actually thought it was a drink I envisioned a swirl of yellow, orange and red, maybe pineapple and strawberry smoothie or juice. But rather, this is a frozen treat of passion fruit (or lilikoi, as what we call it here in Hawaii) topped with sauce of what I think is mainly li hing mui, which I generally don’t like, but its a subtle taste here, not overbearing, so I like however they made this sauce. I also liked the cute little flowers that they added. I don’t know if they’re edible, but I chewed on them and it was actually a little tasty and refreshing with the lilikoi. This come in a plastic container, and I forgot to take a photo of the top, which is a dome. Although it’s a bummer that it has to be plastic, I’ll be able to reuse this many times as a mini greenhouse as I plant seeds. #passionfruit #lilikoi #veganoahu #onthego #summer

The menu lists the ingredients as Black Bean Chickpea Balls, Quinoa, Kualoa Spinach, Ali'i Mushrooms, Cherry Tomatoes, Fresh Diced Yellow Onion, Famous Garlic Aioli Drizzle, Vegan Cheese served with side of Avo Mash and Garlic Aioli. I actually thought that they got me a wrong burrito because it seemed that what I got was falafel and quinoa. I didn’t notice any black beans or any much else. I still liked it a lot, though, and after reading the ingredients again, I realize that the black beans and chickpeas balls are actually the falafel. The grilled spinach wrap is really great to take on the go to enjoy at the beach because it holds up well and not get soggy. The side of avocado mash is just that, not to be confused with guacamole. It was a little zesty, which they probably added lime juice, but other than that, it was rather bland, I would have liked at least a little salt added. The side of Garlic Aioli tasted like a really good ranch dressing. That paired very well as a dip for this burrito. I liked that they gave two dips, the avo and aioli because most places would only give one, which is never enough for me. This was just right. Overall this was a really pricey meal though, coming to over $19 including taxes and a small tip. Good thing I brought water with me because it would be beyond my budget to get both. I do like their drinks though, so if all their foods are this pricey, I’ll have to choose one or the other next time. I like that the burrito is served in a paper bowl. I’ll be able to #reuse this by planting seeds in it and then put it directly in the ground when it’s ready,, so nothing goes to waste. The dips are served in the typical little plastic containers. I got to thinking on my ride to the beach that this must be a difficult alternative because despite this place seeming to try their best to be environmentally-friendly, they still have to resort to this. They serve a lot of drinks, and I’m not sure if they go through a lot of fruits like oranges, limes, papaya, etc, but if so, it would be neat if they could serve the dips inside the shells of them. #veganoahu #veganatthebeach #burrito #falafel

This was too bitter and strong for me, even after I stirred all the oatmilk at the bottom. At first sip out of the bottom from a straw, before I stirred it, I really liked it. I have to admit, I seem to favor plant milk flavored with a little coffee, rather than the other way around. I only drank about 1/4 of this and will save the rest to make a mocha smoothie tomorrow. Not the best shake I’ve had here, but tasty nonetheless. It was a little runny (and quickly turned into a juice in a short time). And it didn’t have the cocoa wall that it’s described to have. It’s basically a vanilla shake made with macnut milk, and tiny pieces of Oreo crumbs. It’s outdoor seating is small and quaint with lot of plants, and other places to sit if it ever gets too full. Really tasty and fulfilling. The caramalized mushrooms really stand out and pairs well with the spinach and vegan cheese. The guacamole, chopped tomatoes, and very creamy, tasty ranch made for a nice dip. if you know me, you know i’m OBSESSED with spring rolls/ rice paper rolls/ summer rolls… whatever you call them haha und these definitely dis NOT disappoint! you get 2 huge rolls and a side of dressing/ sauce which also tastes amazing BUT i have to admit i prefer a pb-sauce over the one they serve with their rolls!
