This is a delicious, very cinnamon-forward, black tea! It's really great for a cozy morning up north in the winter. @amylou makes a great hot toddy with this tea and sweetens it with maple syrup. This tea holds up to whiskey well! Along with cinnamon, it also has orange peel and sweet cloves. I love how aromatic this tea is. I've never had genmaicha before and I was surprised when I read up on it and learned that it has puffed brown rice in it! It's sometimes called "popcorn tea" or "people's tea" since the puffed rice historically acted as a filler and reduced the price. Even without milk, this tea is smooth and almost creamy. It's herbaceous but surprisingly warm and cozy. I added a little vanilla oat creamer because matcha and vanilla are a great combination imo.
