This Fig cheesecake from Amma’s Creamery at the Oranjezicht Market is totally worth the visit! Beautiful base and a creamy consistency rarely experienced with plant-based cheesecake. R50 a slice which I think is a fair price.

I don't think that this plate of peas, lentils, potato and the last bit of beetroot justifies paying R110 when there's way better options around. I always wanted to try this though, but I won't get this again. The peas and lentils were almost crunchy. I didn't enjoy this meal.

No no no I won't try this again. It was just too weird. It looked amazing with the chocolate frosting, but it got weird as soon as I removed the wrapping. Grated beetroot pieces lumped together. The texture, the taste... I only enjoyed the frosting. Some of the seagulls enjoyed it though #reviewwithaview

A galette is a savoury crepe made using buckwheat flour. La Rosette at the OZC market makes authentic crepes and galettes with a range of fillings, both sweet and savoury. My favourite is their homemade nutella with banana. So much better than normal nutella (which isn’t vegan anyway) as it’s not too sweet and contains loads of hazelnuts 😍 The owner is French from Brittany (where they are famous for buckwheat). Next time you visit, order en francais. Bonjour! Je voudrais une galette au chocolat s’il vous plais 😍 (Hello! I would like a galette with chocolate please)
