I know, I know, even I did a double take of this dupe-lookalike of the Dunkin's Choc Pudding I had just a few hours earlier. This consistently good UFO-domed minjiang kueh is way more generously contained with red bean paste.

Boo! Was way too early at the stall to get an assemble-to-order Munchi pancake, so settled for this traditional-cut slice with a less-optimal filling-to-crust ratio. Taste-wise, this peanut-filled charcoal crusted minjiang kueh was still pretty good - and for some weird reason, it also had an aftertaste of nasi lemak?! 😱 I probably needed some coffee too.

Must... stop... eating... pancakes. This combo of ultra-smooth red bean paste filling and green tea minjiang kueh skin is by far the best ever by Munchi. Pro tip: this is assembled to order and served at prevailing temperatures, so ask for it to be heated up. Revenge is a dish best served cold - but as for pancakes? Best served warm. With coffee (swipe ⬅️).

Now about that 'black on black' death metal pancake... THIS is the real deal. I much prefer the smooth red bean paste filling of the other death metal pancake as this nutty ground black sesame was a tad dry. Still utterly tasty and snackable though. Remember to get the staff to warm this up for a more satisfying munch.

Built my own death metal pancake with this black on almost black (but dark red) take on minjiang kueh. Made to order with a generous filling-to-crust ratio, this combination of charcoal crust (you can choose from original or green tea crust too) and smooth, yummy red bean paste was quite perfect.
