The colouring of the #rice in this #biryani was suspiciously uneven 🤨 There was overall a glorious colouring to everything (green, which is fitting given it's #spinach) but then conspicuous white splotches. The conical #papad stuck in the middle was good for the gram but not for the texture. Soggy papad ugh 😩 Order without raita so that this will be vegan

This was the creamiest of our orders, but even in spite of that it was unforgivingly #spicy 😋 The menu says #deepfried vegetables (always risky and worth clarifying, I once learned the hard way that "vegetables" can include paneer 😒), but everything is blanketed in this thick curry and softened up by the time it arrives in front of you 😅 Those white traces ought to be vegan yoghurt. I really hope so because I checked 3 times with 3 different waiters and they were all like "yeah, vegan" 😬

Beneath all that #spicy redness lay a decent pile of #okra 🙂 One of my favourite vegetables, especially when combined with spicy stuff 😋 The menu says there are also #tomatoes and #onions but everything was cut up so finely that you barely perceived any of it alongside the rest of the #masala. I checked 3 times with 3 different people that vegan meant vegan and not Jain and not lacto-vegetarian, so I guess we had to trust that the yoghurt drizzled on top was indeed dairy-free 😬 My diffidence with regards to dairy in Indian restaurants is another matter 🫢

This #daltadka was nice and runny, which I usually find to be a nice counterpoise to the often thicker Indian curries. It was the only #dhal option that we had because while they had vegan yoghurt they didn't have vegan butter, so the makhni couldn't be vegan 😥 Not much more to say really. This was the one unspicy thing on the table, and the #lentils were good #protein 🙂

These guys plaster the word "vegan" all over their branding and menu, which gave me reassurance/hope that they would know how to handle the stuff that I was going to throw at them 😏 Therefore I had the confidence to attack the #indianbread section and order myself this #tandoori #roti ☺️ God I love a good roti. Went brilliantly well with the curries and dhal which I shall come back to review tomorrow

Doesn't quite hit 5 stars because they put so much #evilweed in it 😒 I don't generally request excision with Indian dishes because Indian flavours are usually strong enough to marginalise that of the #coriander. But this one was a bit over the top 😔 That aside, they promised #spicy, tangy, savoury, salty, and crunchy, and I think they delivered on every single one of those fronts 💪 Not sure I appreciated the #mango that much, but the combination of #tamarind and the #chilli #chutney was divine 😋

These guys don't serve alcohol, so this #mocktail #mojito was as good as it got 😅 It was #fizzy and refreshing, with the #masala adding that nice layer of #spicy to the mix 😋 This was the regular flavour and it already had loads going on; I can only imagine how tasty the watermelon variant (for example) would be! Love their metal mugs too

This was #fizzy and refreshing, but there's absolutely nothing fresh about it beyond the slice of real #lime 😅 The #soda made it #sweettooth friendly, and in general I was just thrilled that Kailash Parbat has made it to Malaysia 😃
