Blue Kiwi Poke bowl R75 Seasoned sushi rice, avo, pickled ginger. cucumber, carrot, citrus pickled cabbage, sprouts, soy glazed edamame beans, toasted seeds, pickled onion & radish with sesame soy dressing on the side - I added a portion of tofu for protein! Excellent, tasty and filling!

The description as per pic no. 4 sounded dreamy but these pies were dry, the filling sad and the pastry tasted stale. Bummer!

The cutest little loaf from the guys at Kiwi 🫶🏽. I dodged the butter because I forgot to check if it was vegan. I sliced it up at home with a smear of Flora and it was lovely. Hubz joined in and said whenever I get again, he'd like his own loaf 😎💪🏾.

Oh man... I could not resist and it was custard tart heaven 🙌🏾 Flaky pastry that even got the nod from Hubz and the custard was yummy. It had a bit of a citrus flavour in there that I liked. R22 each.

The idea of this sounded good but I must admit I wasn't too excited because it looked a bit sad lol. A very light curry flavour with a bit of mashed potato and peas. The pastry was dry and the whole thing just didn't appear fresh 😕

R23,00 - full pot Organic Vanilla Chai tea. Since we were having so many sweet treats already, I didn't want to get something sweet to drink with it as well, so I ordered this tea. It is absolutely yum yum! Also, great value for money considering you get a hot drink for R23, and I filled my tea cup about 4 and a half times! It was a perfect accompaniment to the cake, muffin and bar we had. This was a really lovely bowl, but it lacked in seasoning and so the flavours never popped like I imagine they could. I added chilli, but that's my buzz. There's a light peanut taste. Lots of sweet potato. The rice was lekker. This was one of their specials for the day on Monday.

Their muffins are not dry at all which I find most places seem to struggle with, and they aren't badly priced at all. R38.00 (Can't remember the exact price). These bars are a yummy treat if you want something small. It's got more of a bitter cacao taste rather than super sweet like the carrot cake. You definitely taste the peanut butter, but for a peanut butter addict like myself I'd like it if there was an even stronger taste of peanut butter in this. Just personal preference but it's still very deliscious. Blue Kiwi itself is a very cozy spot with vibrant decor and the friendliest staff you could ask for. Everything we've had there so far has been absolutely beautifully presented and tasty as anything. Definitely a go to spot for us when craving a desert, but they also have an extensive food menu including a complete plant based sushi menu as well. I'd say they're a must visit if you're in the area.
