Oh how delightful ☺️ My only complaint was that there wasn't more of it 😭 They proudly tell you that they use high-grade #matcha (not that I would know 😅), but in this case it was really about the everything else 😉 The #berrylover #strawberry was present in compote/paste form at the bottom and in sliced fresh form on top, and then there was a generous quantity of #oatmilk to lend this #ditchdairy beverage the requisite creaminess to keep me interested 😉 #dessertinacup this one 🙂

Another solid effort, I especially liked the earthiness of the #mushroom broth 😋 Didn't quite give enough support to the #udon at that level of thickness, but by itself it was delightful! I thought I'd at least give their udon a go since clearly that was being presented as their forté. There is an alternative option for this on the menu which involves plain noodles with a seaweed soup of some sort on the side, and the very attentive server told us that it tended to be less well received 🥲 The #tempura did what tempura normally does - #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease 😋 You get one piece each of #pumpkin, #capsicum, #aubergine, #whiteradish, #shiitake, and - perhaps most intriguingly - some thin leaf that became an delicious excuse to eat batter 😍 That found the keys to my heart!

I find it hard to say #bukkake anything with a straight face 😈 This place makes #udon their claim to fame, so we thought we would order from that part of the menu 🙂 The wife decided she liked the sound of this 🤭 so she got some thick #noodles covered in fresh vegetables and bathed in this sourish sauce. I wasn't too enamoured truth be told, but then again udon and I don't tend to vibe 😬 The best part is the pickled (is that the right word? 🤔) cucumber and cherry tomato on the side btw!

Yay! We now have not one but two fantastic vegan #Japanese places in this postal code ☺️ And I think these guys will provide worthy competition for Towzen (who are absolutely amazing at what they do!) These guys have been open for only a month and are already pulling in crazy crowds 💪 From what I could overhear a lot of the diners aren't even remotely plant-based people 😃 Their stuff is excellent (and so is their staff 😂), and the best of the lot was, I thought, this #starter 🙂 Not your average #croquettes, these went for a mild but creamy take on #bechamel with an exquisite #applesauce that somehow balanced salty and sour 😋 Honourable mention to the side salad, all 4 leaves of which were bathed in this glorious balsamic something 😅 #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease, so if I try not to repeat places within the same quarter, then wake me up when September ends 🙂
