Azteca Mexican Foods is giving sass, and I'm here for it. The tortillas have an earthy, distinctive taste that is refreshing.  I made enchiladas (recipe from Nora Cooks here at https://www.noracooks.com/the-best-vegan-enchiladas/#wprm-recipe-container-4581), which were very filling amd tasty. There are enough in the packet for them to be a treat. I think I may be more of a nachos girl, which is lucky because Azteca make those, too.

Lovely,  tasty snack - perfect sweetness. Clearly marked vegan (so no crows feet from squinting at the ingredients - savings on eye cream there). Will I buy it again? Every time I see them!

Raw Cashew, Cranberry Chocolate Bites

Delicious 😋 I made mine with Soya mylk.  It is very sweet but not as sweet as other brands on the market here in South Africa. I bought this from the Azteca Mexican Foods online store. Every year during winter, they host a spicy hot chocolate tasting, and every year, I make plans, but miss is. So,  this year, I was determined to have my own. I may have gone a little overboard, especially by buying the molinillo, which is much bigger than I expected. Anyway,  long story short, the bar is quite big. I used a quarter bar for 1 cup of soya mylk. It was perfect for my taste. Shout out to Azteca Mexican Foods for having such a great range of vegan products available.

Delicious 🍪 cookies from Yum Baker. This is my last one, which I saved to review here. Six in a tin, beautifully presented. It does use palm fruit and kernal). I think they are good value for money.

Hazelnut Chunky Cookies

I can see I am late to the party on @[Vegeata](brand-5d1bba040d225d000450e34a) products. This is a cheeky little cream cheese! Made from ground nuts (score!) it's a wonderful addition to our local pland-based cheese range. I don't react well to coconut oil so I'm stuck when it comes to finding cheeses in my price range. Sure, I splash out at Christmas or my birthday 🎂,  but otherwise it's a toss-up between thickening arteries (for me) and cheeze. This has a very delicate taste, slightly eggy (which has to be the nuts coming through), and, at the risk of outing myself as a glutton (too late, I hear your cry!), lovely either on crackers or straight out of the tub (😋) by the spoonful. Very creamy!

A great prepared meal for busy people.  Obviously,  you could make this for yourself at home, but still, if you're on the run or short on time, this is a wonderful addition to your shop. Ready in 3-4 minutes (microwave). I ate this with the chakalaka-style Sunday veg. Would I buy this again? Definitely. Clearly marked vegan.

Umfino maize meal with leafy greens

Lovely side dish. It's not as spicey as I normally like my chakalaka-style vegetables,  but still delicious. I ate this with the Umfino (pap with spinach), which complemented it well. Clearly marked 'vegan' (yay!). All in all , a very convenient addition to Woolworths SA pantry. Ready in 3-4 minutes in the microwave.

Glad to know the heat level - if it's mild, I'll try it 😁

Sunday Veg

A very nice macadamia mylk on its own or in coffee.  Just remember to shake well - I didn't - before hand. I found this also at the Dunkeld Fruit and Flowers shop in jmJan Smuts Ave. I would say the taste is better than others (not naming names here). If I have a choice between the two, I will opt for this one. Based on content,  too, it doesn't contain added (sunflower) oil but uses tapioca starch for thickening, and pea protein for added protein. Its macadamia content is also quite low, but really on a par with others, unfortunately. Unless tou make your own, you will never get the same content or natural ingredients. Slightly pricier than other brands.

Tasty and tangy but could be hotter (spicier) . As you know, I'm a gal who likes her spice,  so I thought this was slightly lacking. I loved that it was clearly labelled 'vegan'. Great addition to nachos. I might buy it again for the convenience,  but it could be replaced with Be-Well mixed with Sriacha sauce. Just saying.
