I recently went to Club Mexicana to try their UNLIMITED VEGAN Tacos on Taco Tuesday
and let me tell you they were YUM! Totally worth the price (£17.50 per person) for so many delicious plant-based options and they were super filling. I’d definitely go again. Now, here’s my rating of all the tacos (yes, I managed to try them all!).
#1 BBQ Short ‘Rib’ Taco
(sticky glazed ‘ribs’, BBQ sauce, slaw, pink onions, pickled jalapeños, garlic mayo)
First place goes to this taco, it’s first on the menu for a reason. It was such a strong start and easily one of the best tacos I’ve had in my life. The texture and the flavours were just spot on! I even had a second serving of this one. 🤭
#2 Buffalo Mushroom Taco
(southern fried oyster mushrooms, buffalo sauce, lettuce, pickled jalapeños, ranch mayo)
I friggin’ love mushrooms, so this taco is a close second place. It had a bit of kick and the mushrooms were nice and crispy!
#3 To-Fish & Chips Taco
(beer battered to-fish, tiny fries, tartare sauce, mushy pea salsa, gherkin slice)
I didn’t expect to like this taco as much as I did if I’m honest, but they’ve done such a good spin on the classic fish and chips - the flavours are so rich and the tartare sauce brings it all together perfectly. It’s like a MUCH better (and ofc vegan) version of the fillet-o-fish McDonalds burger.
The last two tacos Al Pastor Taco and Cheezeburger Taco were sadly not my faves - probably because the taste resembled fast food a tad too much and they felt quite heavy, but I think they just weren’t for me - I’m sure they have plenty of other fans.
