Thunder Tree brought back their asam laksa for one special day to celebrate their fifth birthday! I was lucky enough to snag a portion for lunch.
This bowl of noodles was a joy to eat. It was bright, zesty and fragrant from the pineapple, tamarind, calamansi, fresh mint and torch ginger flower. The tartness was balanced out with a perfect amount of sweetness. There was gentle heat from the chillies. All these flavours were rounded off with just the right amount of a funky fermented flavour component.
Delicious and satisfying. Highly recommended if they ever bring it back again!
