This is a quick and easy, #highprotein #lowfat #soy product that can be added to all sorts of meals to bump up the protein and calories if needed. It's also a good source of #fiber , #calcium , #iron and #potassium . I like to add this to premade foods that are high in sodium (like chilis and soups) to help stretch the meal and reduce the sodium per serving. The texture is a little strange. It's just tiny pieces and kind of hard and gritty. I didn't mind it but my partner really did not like it. I used this to make spicy TVP and avocado #sushi and I thought it was pretty good. I got this from Vitacost

#bobsredmill #tvp #texturedvegetableprotein #highfibre #veganprotein #iron #protein After reading a review of this product here on abillion, I went out and bought this at No Frills. It’s an easy protein to cook - just boil water or vegetable stock/broth and add it to the textured vegetable product (TVP). It’s that simple! The easy cooking is one benefit of this product. The second benefit (more importantly to me) is the nutritional numbers. Extremely low in calories, fat and sodium (almost fat-free and sodium-free) and high in fibre, protein and iron. All this is from its only ingredient - defatted soy flour. I boiled vegetable broth to flavour the TVP and used it as my ‘ground chicken’ topping on pizza (3rd last photo before putting other toppings on the pizza) and used it as part of my Mexican mix (with black beans, plant-based mince, peppers, onions, jalapeños, spices and canned tomatoes; the last photo). The package cost me about $8, I think. This is quite the deal, considering the amount of dishes I can get from it. It’s very good value. I will definitely be buying this again.
