Perhaps better known as (rehydrated) textured soy protein; it's the main ingredient on labels of many of the plant based processed foods we all love. Easy to cook with and, like tofu, it absorbs whatever flavours you add! I pre soaked for 10mins in 2:1 boiled water with ½ tsp garam masala. Pretty satisfing for a first attempt. The soy chunks had potential to absorb more liquid so will cook into some sauce based dish next time. Or i imagine blitzing with other ingredients could make into patties or anything else At £1.99 a bag and my very generous 50g portion that's 7 meals (~25g protein each). Not surprised why its used in soo many foods.. Note: it's factory processed so wouldn't consider it healthy healthy but moderation in balanced diet😊 i type this while eating chocolate😅 Ngl i was actually looking for 'soy crispies' that i discovered on labels to make high protein dessert snacks but stumbled upon these in Holland & Barrett's.
