If you need to buy cheap Easter chocolate for a vegan and also have zero regard for its quality or the tastebuds and continuing relationship with said vegan, get them this abomination. With containing only 5% cocoa powder, fourth down on the list of ingredients after sugar, vegetable oil, tapioca starch, and rice flour (why is there starch and flour in this?), this shouldn’t legally be called “chocolate”. In fact, Sweet William got around this lawsuit by just calling it “Choc”. It’s a sickly, starchy wax seasoned with a dash of cocoa. And it feels and tastes just like that in your mouth after you look into the bunny’s soulless brown eyes and bite off his ears. The box sucks you in with health-washing slogans like “non-GMO ingredients” and “no artificial colours or flavours”, as well as heart-warming labels like “Family Owned Business” and “Hand Made”, but at the end of the day, it is a highly processed, cheap, low quality product bulked out with fillers that like many of its ilk, tricks your brain into eating more and more even though you know it doesn’t actually taste good and your stomach is telling you to stop 🤮 #dobetter

The Sweet William Chocolate Bunny lives up to it's name, falling on the sweeter side of the chocolate scale; if you have a bit more of a sweet tooth than the average folk, this is the chocolate bunny for you! As someone with less of a sweet tooth, I still greatly enjoyed this chocolate bun, but just had to eat it across several sittings to avoid that 'sickengly sweet' feeling that can come from having too much in one go. As many allergen-friendly products are, this chocolate bun also fell a bit on the pricier side for what you're getting, but I expect that some of that premium price tag comes from Sweet William producing their chocolates in dedicated nut free, dairy free and gluten free factories. At the end of the day, it is a small price to pay for the peace of mind when it comes to cross-contamination. It is always great to see companies who offer vegan and allergen-friendly options, especially when it comes to major events and holidays, so aside from it being slightly too sweet for me personally, the Sweet William chocolate bunny is still a welcome addition to my Easter basket.
