Roasted Watermelon

Have not seen #watermelon on the menu since I was at Yardbird - so I got a watermelon 🍉 sugar high when I saw this on the menu. The wood-fired roasted watermelon has a slight smoky char which adds depth to the sweet juiciness. As pretty as it looked, i was very disappointed by this dish as it was very underwhelming both in portion and taste. I could barely taste the charred-ness of the watermelon and it tasted like a normal watermelon but coated in a pool of oil. The vegetables were not seasoned hence was also just coated in oil. For the hefty price of $16 for a palm sized watermelon snd a few vegetables on top, i was disappointed and would not choose this dish again.
