Toothsome soy 'chicken cubes' stir-fried with fragrant shredded ginger in a slightly herbal sauce, alongside tomato, tricolour bell pepper, carrot slices, and lettuce. Non-veg mum enjoyed this! Also appreciated that the soy mock meat didn't have any unpleasant strong soy taste. Served with a bowl of clear soup too. (Allium-free, $7.80) #sgvegan #chinesefood
Really like it when the protein and veg proportion is higher than the rice~ I find it quite "wow" how the ginger can be sliced so thin and cooked to remove the stinging sensation but still maintain the ginger flavour. The savoury side of the sauce is quite balanced, so there's no need to have the urge to eat lots of rice with it.
I've never seen ginger fried rice in my life, so it was hard to know what to expect. But I'm glad I ordered! The fried rice came out well, just nicely dry enough with sufficient moist in the grains. I cant imagine how the ginger flavour was fried into the rice. You clearly know there is ginger but it doesn't scream at you! And garlic always does wonders!
