Jangiri — deep fried black gram batter rings dunked in sugar syrup. I hate how much food colouring they’ve used!
A little too crispy and sweet for my preference. I like the thicker, slightly soggy kind a lot more. I realised letting it sit in the fridge let it get a tad soft. So it tasted better after two days.
I have fond childhood memories of visiting Bhagatram Sweets’ original location often. Unfortunately their quality has gone down over the years.
Still, they have a handful of decent vegan options so I either visit or order in their stuff when I’m feeling nostalgic.
As always, best to visit them first, ask questions about the ingredients, taste stuff, and then know what to order via Swiggy or Zomato in the future.
