#vegan #veganisnotscary #zevia #cherrycola #nongmo #nongmocertified #zerosugar #zerocalories #fatfree #zerofat #glutenfree After trying another flavour of Zevia pop / soda and really enjoying it, I thought I’d try a second flavour. I bought this case of 6 cans of Zevia Cherry Cola Zero Sugar Soda at No Frills for $5.00. It was on sale. Normally, it’s priced at $6.00 (perhaps more, I’m not sure). I absolutely loved the flavour. The taste of cherry was very prominent. Although this pop has zero sugar, I thought it was quite sweet, perhaps too sweet. This is not surprising considering stevia leaf extract is an ingredient which is 50-300 times sweeter than sugar, according to Wikipedia. I think stevia leaf extract is preferred over aspartame as it’s a natural plant-derived sweetener, whereas aspartame is an artificial lab- synthesized sweetener. Generally speaking, I’ve been trying to cut back on my pop consumption over the years. But every once in a while, I do get a craving. I suppose / assume Zevia brand pop is “better” (or not as bad) for you as other brands use aspartame. I would get this again, though I wish it was cheaper.
