Oh for the love of plants... This was amazing!!! It tastes just like tofu, like

a very firm tofu. I cut half the block, then cut it into rectangular pieces, dipped the pieces in oil then dipped it in a flour, salt and paprika mixture. Then fried them. Served it with onion rings dipped in teh same mixture along with some homemade fries. Oh how yummy it was!!!! The other half of the block I out into a coconut cream curry and served it on a bed of basmati rice. #plantlovers thanks #woolworths #paneer #greyton

Do I know what to do with it? Not yet. Is it the same as

tofu? Can't be? (different name, different packaging, even some different ingredients). It seems that paneer is more cheesy in flavour and is more likely to be used with spices and curries. Label says not suitable for freezing so I will have to learn fast. Update: I sautéed onion, chili, cauliflower, peas and diluted tomato paste in a pan as a curry base. I chopped half a packet of paneer in cubes and coated it in a paste of masala powder and olive oil before air frying on max for about 10 minutes before adding to the curry pan with leftover masala paste. See third picture. Half a packet of paneer with veg is enough for two servings. I didn't have rice or naan so served it with couscous instead. #stellenbosch

While it's awesome that there is a vegan #paneer option available to us

now, this tastes exactly the same as the #tofu to me. It has the same #texture as well, so not really very original, but still a good option to have if you're wanting to add it to some #asianfood dishes. I am as usual annoyed that the plastic isn't #recyclable, such a downside to many Woolworths products. I really hope they focus more on #ecopackaging soon. Overall not my favorite product but might just be personal preference. It's also pricey.

I've never ever seen vegan paneer before so was so excited to see Woolies bring

this forward.
It is very much tofu but nice a firm tofu. Great to cook with and add to butter 'chicken' curry

First time trying this paneer and I’m impressed. Sliced, marinated in soy sauce, coated in

panko breadcrumbs and fried. They turned out really well! Crispy on the outside and tender inside.
