I gotta be honest with this and I am a true #pumpkinlover and #pumpkinpielover! Am I the only one who thinks the crust on the vegan pumpkin 🎃 pie from Whole Foods is always under cooked…? I mean look at it, it’s it supposed to be toasty? Maybe it’s just me. I tried putting it in my airfryer for a bit but it just was t good! True true bummer! Please do better Whole Foods! We deserve an amazing vegan 🌱 pumpkin pie 🥧! #veganinillinois #pumpkinlover #pumpkinspice #pumpkinpie #dobetterwholefoods #vegan4life #vegan4theanimals #vegan4theplanet #abillionlove #veganisnotscary

first of all: i appreciate that whole foods has a vegan pumpkin pie available and i appreciate that it is CLEARLY labeled. i have not perfected my own vegan pumpkin pie recipe yet, so i will compare this to pies i’ve had before i was vegan. i would say for a store bought pumpkin pie i was impressed! i think the crust was solid (although vegan pie crust is not a difficult feat) and the filling was appropriately flavored and textured. i have had vegan pumpkin pie with an almost congealed filling texture, but this one was not gummy and melted in your mouth. i feel like the flavor could have been better, but then again this is a store bought pumpkin pie and the flavor itself has nothing on home-roasted pumpkin pie if they were just using purée— so for what it is, i do enjoy the flavor. i think there could have been a tiny bit more filling, but it wasn’t enough to make me believe they were skimping on the filling. i will also add that some vegan whipped cream would really improve this, but i ate this with a fork in the car and did not have any vegan whip available. edit: i just looked at the other pictures and saw that every other whole foods pumpkin pie has twice as much filling height as mine did. 🤨 texture: 10/10 flavor: 8/10
