I was looking for a decent alternative to Splenda so this went in the shopping cart as soon as I saw it at Costco. The package indicates that it's a one-for-one replacement for sugar, but I have a lot to learn about monk fruit sweeteners. I tried using it in freshly-squeezed lemonade and I missed the gritty, sugary taste. It just wasn't sweet. And I just mixed some into a bowl of ground flax-fortified peanut 🥜 powder. (I use that as a breakfast dipping sauce for a banana.). One tablespoon wasn't enough so I added another teaspoon and by the time I ate, the peanut butter was too sweet, like candy. Does this type of sweetener intensify after mixing with certain ingredients? I guess more experiments are in order.
