This was chewier than other plant based mice I've had but not necessarily in a bad way. I prefer softer mince like the Meatless Farm Co. but I guess you could say this is more realistic since it is more chewy like real mince. £1.99 from Lidl is good value and the pack looked small but I actually got 4 portions of bolognese out of it by bulking it up with carrot and mushrooms. I liked the recyclable cardboard packaging too.
This gives off a very off-putting smell as it fries, and it made me feel a little sick tbh... Decent flavour once cooked though! I think it is a very convincing mince substitute so this may be too realistic for some people. I probably won't repurchase this as I prefer having the mince that you don't need to fry first, as something about the realness is just too off putting!
You can buy this mince in Lidl, so very affordable! It is realistic in look and texture with a tasty flavour too. I've so far made spaghetti bolognese and a shepherd's pie with it and these both tasted amazing, especially the shepherd's pie!! Deffo recommend!
