I was super curious about this so I decided to give it a try. It

has a smokey taste and the texture is really similar to fish for me. Comes with 4 slices, which can be cut smaller to serve as starters or appetizers. It cost 6,99 euros, is not cheap but I will probably buy it again, occasionally.

Vegan salmon 🍣 Let me introduce you to the most expensive vegan food item I’ve

ever bought - 8.89€ for 100g of vegan salmon. Hear me out though. It’s so delicious 🤤 They improved the recipe and it has a much better taste and texture now! If you ever see it in a store - don’t be afraid of the price - get it! It is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids – 2.3g per 100g to be precise. Hah, and you know what? That’s more than with Atlantic salmon! Furthermore, these delicate gourmet slices are made without gluten, soy or palm oil. #veganuary

Ingredients: Water, vegetabile oil with flavouring (rapeseed, linseed, algae extract (knotted kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum), sea thong (Himanthalia elongate), japanese kelp (Undaria pinnatifida), chlorella (Chlorella vulgaris))), maltodextrin, pea protein, potato starch, gelling agent: konjac; carrot fibre; sea salt, colours: paprika extract, beta carotene; thickener: xanthan gum; acidity regulator: calcium hydroxide; beechwood smoke.

So, apart from fish fingers, fish is one of the greatest challenges to veganize. Especially

smoked salmon.

Veganz tried this with a combination of carrots, algal extract and some other ingredients. And what can I say, they do indeed a really good job and the taste is really similar to the original. Although I personally wouldn't need a substitute for fish, this one is definitely worth a try!

since i am a huge fan of carrot lox (salmon), i was dying to try

that one. it's just nothing like the carrot salmon alternative. its made of oils, algae and pea protein. it smells a lot like smoked salmon but i didn't like the consistency of it. plus, the slices were kinda thick. a little thinner would be more appealing, i guess. nevertheless a very interesting product that tastes good. pretty expensive with eur 4.99
