I was surprised to find this vegan "meat" alternative in a province that is far
from Metro Manila. I got this from Robinsons Ilocos and is also available at SM Hypermarket.
Tocino is a Filipino breakfast favorite that is usually eaten with garlic rice. It is traditionally made with sweet-cured pork.
This product perfectly mimics the flavor and texture of Tocino. This is fully cooked already, so all you need to do is to heat it up with a few teaspoons of oil. You may add some sugar to make it more caramelised. My family was so amazed that this is vegan. All their vegan products are properly labeled. #veganin2022 #filipinovegan #veganisnotscary
