🇬🇧 For those who doesn’t know, bresaola is a cured meat typically product in Valtellina,
extreme northern Italy.
This vegetal cold cut is sort of a replica of the original and I’m not gonna complain because the brand hit the score -to be clear it’s not properly identical but it’s good and it’s important is to give a try to all these alternatives to convince companies in investing more and more on the vegetal sector (IMHO).
I prefer self-producing my “meats” at home but I know I have nor the machinery, nor all ingredients required to get a similar result so I buy these products every now and then half curiosity and other half for studying and replicate them by myself.
Not bad at all, texture is not excessively rubbery, thickness is pretty good after all - original speck is slightly thinner and usually has more fat -, one of those grab n’ go things to have in your fridge If you’re in a hurry or simply not in the mood for cooking.
Recommended, but I like their vegetal speck more.
🇮🇹 Pur essendo un’autoproduttrice convinta, conosco i miei limiti perché pur con tutto l’impegno, chiaramente non ho a disposizione né i macchinari né tutti gli ingredienti per raggiungere il risultato delle preparazioni industriali.
Diciamo che li compro 50% per curiositĂ e 50% per studiarli e capire fino a che punto riesco a spingermi con le mie repliche senza necessariamente riempire la dispensa di metilcellulosa e altre diavolerie - oltre al fatto che torvo giusto incentivare il mercato delle alternative vegetali.
La consistenza di questa finta bresaola è buona, non eccessivamente gommosa, lo spessore delle fette è sottile, il sapore è l’unico punto debole perché non si capisce bene cosa richiami ma non è cattivo, insomma una cosa da avere in frigo per un panino al volo invece delle verdure grigliate.
Tutto sommato mi è piaciuta, ma preferisco l’altro affettato gusto speck.
