Although there is palm oil in this product, the website for Becel in Canada says they use certified sustainable palm oil and palm kernel oil. There is no indication of this on the packaging so I hope I can trust their Canadian website. I have only used the brick Becel in baking and today it passed what I think is one of the major tests - made vegan Witch’s Fingers for Halloween and they tasted great. The recipe was basically a shortbread/sugar cookie type of dough and there really is no room to hide if the flavour is off. The flavour was ON. My husband is pretty fussy and definitely not vegan and they passed his taste test. So I will continue to use for vegan baking.
