Plantain chips are a savory snack made from unripe plantains, which are sliced and fried until crispy. They have a unique texture with a slightly sweet flavor that is both crunchy and satisfying. These chips are a popular choice for those looking for a healthier alternative to traditional potato chips. They are often enjoyed as a snack or served as an appetizer in many Latin American and Caribbean cuisines.

Crunchy, starchy plantain chips are the salty #snack that keeps me coming back for more! These are made with immature fruit; if you want something riper, the sweet plantain #chips may be more to your liking. Unlike others I’ve tried, Trader Joe’s are axially sliced, resulting in cute little rounds with the thickness of kettle chips. I think they’re also really pretty, as you can see the natural whorls of the plantain’s interior in every bite. These aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they sure are tasty, and the price is fair at $1.99/bag.
