Anything vegan with cute tropical labeling and coconuts? Sign me the heck up. đŸ˜đŸ„„đŸŒș This

is a great soy sauce alternative and is sweet but not overly-so. Definitely worth a try! #veganisnotscary

I put this stuff on everything! It's a sweet and đŸ„„ flavored soy sauce alternative!

So delish! I would keep some in my bag if I had a magical one like Mary Poppins!

I haven’t bought coconut aminos in a long time as I had a stockpile from

purchasing my fave brand when they went on sale. I ran out here so decided to give the one from Trader Joe’s a try!

If you’ve never had coconut aminos: it is basically a gluten free soy sauce alternative that is made from coconut sap and salt. It’s similar in profile but is sweeter. I don’t have any gluten or soy allergies but really like the taste of coconut aminos in certain applications so I usually have both that and soy sauce.

This coconut aminos is quite tasty. I do slightly prefer the other brand as it is a touch sweeter, but is not a terribly noticeable difference.

If you’d like to try coconut aminos out for the first time, this could be a good one for you as it’s more affordable than many. I cannot recall the exact price but I believe it was between $3 and $4. My usual brand is $5.99 full price.

An absolute staple for me. It’s made of fermented coconut nectar and sea salt 🌮🧂.

So, sweet and salty, what’s the big deal?
Well, for many, the much lower sodium level and simple ingredients compared to tamari or soy sauce is pretty compelling. Most important for me though, it saved tons of counter/pantry space.
Granted, it doesn’t have the same depth and complexity you get from soy sauce, hoisin sauce, teriyaki sauce, etc. But what it lacks in complexity, it compensates in dexterity.
Now I don’t need to always add some sweetener to balance out the saltiness of soy sauce. And I can always add less of it and a pinch of salt if I want more savory taste. For more flavor, I can also add in other seasonings. It plays the notes of all these other condiments in one bottle, not as a master, but good enough for day-to-day use.
I only wish TJ had this in bigger bottle to save me some trips and possibly lesser environment impact♻
