Asian Style Vegetables with Stir Fry Sauce

It's great to have some frozen veggies for those days when I don't have a lot of time to get dinner ready. This Asian style blend from Trader Joe's has a nice variety of vegetables, sugar snap peas, broccoli 🥦, baby corn🌽, green beans, peppers🫑, mushrooms🍄, carrots🥕, and my favorite - water chestnuts!🌰 Plus it comes with stir fry sauce, too. The only thing I don't love about frozen veg is that they turn out a bit mushier than I like. This was pretty good. It had #babycorn which I liked but some of the pieces were really big and didn’t get soft enough to be able to eat. Would’ve liked more #broccoli and wish it had #bambooshoots. I added some #daringfoods plain chikn. Overall it was good.

These veggies 🥗 are perfect 👍🏼 to have on hand in the freezer for quick stir fry meals!! It comes with a sauce packet that you add after veggies are sautéed, stir in till mixed well and that’s it! I didn’t care for this. I wanted to love it but the mix of veggies was off for me and the whole thing was too sweet. A lot of the veggies are on the sweet side—sugar peas, red pepper, carrot, corn— plus the sauce was sweet but lacked balance to me. My main disappointment though was it didn’t have enough mushrooms, broccoli and water chestnuts. That would have give better savory flavor and texture. Also it literally had 2 small pieces of the baby corn. Personally I’d rather pay a little more than get all the carrots and peppers that always feels like they’re just unloading the relatively inexpensive stuff.
