Another seasonal from TJ. Cinnamon and ginger notes are very nice. Tasty!

This is a really tasty fruit spread for the fall! I love that is has

cardamom in it, and it’s great on an English muffin. #veganisnotscary

While pumpkin definitely reigns supreme at Trader Joe’s, autumn also brings other fun seasonal finds

to the shelves. This cider-inspired spread is firmly gelled and chunky, with a consistency similar to marmalade. Despite the big pieces of fruit, however, I couldn’t immediately taste the apples underneath all of the sugar and spice. I personally believe that apples need a touch of acidity to really pop; that complexity was missing for me, so the spread felt insipidly sweet and a little flat. There’s a good idea and a solid blend of spices here, but with a squeeze more lemon (and perhaps a bit less sugar,) it could be something truly magical.

i love this apple cider spread! in terms of texture, it’s very chunky and i

like that i’m able to actually bite into the apple pieces a little more than i would a smoother jam. it has a jelly-like texture, and it is very sweet. i wouldn’t say the flavor was comparable to apple butter; it’s definitely reminiscent of actual apple cider with hints of ginger and cardamom and probably a little sweeter as well.

honestly i really like this product! the only real downside is that it’s seasonal 😓
