#vegan #veganisnotscary #molinaros #pizzakit #thincrust #thincrustpizza #madeincanada #highinsodium #highiniron It’s been a while since I’ve purchased these Molinaro’s pizza kits, but they were on sale recently at No Frills for $3.50, so I bought a couple packs. They’re normally priced at $6.00 (they were $5 pre-covid). Each package contains 2 thin pizza crusts and 2 packs of tomato / pizza sauce. I love making my own pizza as I have better control over the ingredients and ultimately, the nutritional value of my pizza. These pizza crusts are very convenient and are of a decent size. I just added the sauce provided and my own toppings. This time, my toppings included shredded vegan cheese, green peppers, onions, TVP (textured vegan protein), hot pepper rings, hot sauce and bbq sauce. It was absolutely delicious and the crust holds my toppings well. It’s not a floppy crust. New to the packaging is the “High in Sodium” Health Canada warning label. Just one-quarter of the crust contains 18% of your daily recommended sodium intake. That’s a lot especially for someone (me) who normally eats three-quarters of the pizza in one sitting. That same serving size also provides 10% of your day’s iron too. I would still buy Molinaro’s Pizza Crusts simply because they’re so good. And vegan.
