The Roku is known for being hard to work with because of a dense botanical
profile that gives way to an intensely bitter finish. My preferred #gin profiles include herbal-spicy, so I thought I'd use cracked peppercorn and rocket leaves to accompany the notes of tea and pepper in the mid-palate. The watermelon was a mistake; never try to sweeten a Roku, it just goes flat 😐 (I usually have this combination with lemon instead to amp the citrus, but I'd run out)
I'm a sucker for #japanese gins and this is one of my favourites. So sad I'm down to the last shot, need to go get some more 😉 #veganuary
