Oh fudge, there's so much #plastic here. I didn't know how thin the package inside would be so I'm very glad I only paid half price. I wouldn't suggest buying this unless you see it on #sale. There's not a lot in the package at all, but you don't need too much to get the #flavour. The #texture is definitely soft carrots but alllllllmost like a smoked salmon with a bite to it? Haha. The flavour is pretty close and gives the vibes of smoked salmon for sure. It's quite #oily which I understand but didn't enjoy. I ate this with #boursin on some thin buns (review to follow) but I'm sure it would be good as pictured on the back of the box too. I'll get it again on sale but not too often.
The texture and the look of it is just like the real thing. But might not taste fishy as the real thing.
Before going vegan I LOVED smoked salmon. (I know, gross). But, it’s been hard for find a good substitute that met all the factors; flavour, texture, look. But I would say this product comes pretty close. It satisfies all the same desires. On top of a bagel with vegan cream cheese, topped with cucumbers, and some cracked pepper was my favourite way to eat it. I got three meals worth from one package. Good value, I’d say at $7.99 CAD.
