Biltong

Have you tried this insanely delicious vegan biltong from Romeo & Vero

I got this from

Romeo & Vero’s new location in Woodstock, but you can also buy it at the Vegan Goods Market

We took it along on our honeymoon road trip and tried it for the first time! It’s so good! It’s chewy and full of flavour.

It’s made with mushrooms, gluten-free flour, spices, olive oil, and a little soy. It’s not like traditional biltong, but it’s so good I’m definitely buying some

Texture & consistency very close to a hard biltong but bit too hard to chew

and leaves a very artificial after taste in your mouth. I prefer the mushroom biltong sold by other brands. I was disappointed with this product sadly but appreciate the effort to recreate a favorite snack!

Romeo & Veros meat replacements are very tasty and the texture is very good as

a meat replacement.
Also they are gluten free which is a plus.

These shrooms are so good that even the carnies enjoyed them on my cheese board.

was never a biltong lover but this I'll definitely always be keen on buying.

Romeo recommended I freeze it if I'm not using it within a few days of purchase and it froze perfectly.
My second bag I kept refrigerated.
