Bechamel Sauce

Omg I’ve been trying to find a vegan white sauce and I’m SO happy I finally found one that tastes amazing!!! Do yourself a favor and get this one bc it’s so fkn goooood ❤️

It can be added directly to our cooked pasta but I add some seasoning, nutritional yeast and basil flakes into this sauce to enhance the taste. The original taste is abit too light for my preference. But I would love to try any vegan product. #vpantry #sauce #pastasauce #condiments

The sauce is creamy but has an interesting smell and taste that I can’t place. Would recommend to try to decide if you liked it, but we did! Overall, it is enough for 4 servings (maybe 5)

I love this! Sometimes I get it and melt loads of cheese in it to make a lazy cheesey sauce!!

Oooh i was thinking about doing that with my remaining béchamel! What cheese do you recommend for it? 

We succeeded using soy mylk but I agree that with too much heat plant mylk can split.  Barista blends would be more heat resistant however we've never tried to make béchamel with them. 

I actually put a mixture the last time I done it. I had some asda free from slices left over and crumbled that in, and also a bag of grated "cheddar" which I'm sure I got from sainsburys but I'm not sure what the brand is sorry! :( I'm sure any more "white" cheeses would be good. I find the yellowish ones like violife are a bit too gooey in a way! X

I use either soya or oat milks and neither have failed me. 

Which one did you use? I’ve tried the alpro one before but it split 😂

Usually the alpro 😅 maybe we make it differently 🤷🏻‍♀️

I probably heat it up too quickly 😂 I put it on high heat straight away 😂

I absolutely love this product! I really struggle making vegan béchamel from scratch (if anyone knows a good plant based milk to add to a roux please let me know) so this product is perfect for me!
