Price: £3.50 (Sainsburys) I haven't had this one before but it was on BBD discount for £0.69 so picked it up. I think the Plant Pioneers ready meal range is probably one of the best out of all the supermarkets and this sweet and sour chicken is no exception. Loved the sauce, especially for the strong pineapple taste. The chicken pieces were big. Rice was decent. I threw in some vegetables to bulk it out and it worked out great. The price makes me not want to buy it on a regular basis, but I would pick it up again on discount or if I'm feeling fancy. Decent portion. I was able to divide over 2 dinners, with a quick top up of veggies on the side. Tasty too. It was quite saucy. the tofu fried rice was nice too. Grateful and impressed by Sainsbury’s Plant pioneers range. Affordable ready meals and meal deals, desserts and all, that are quite yummy. Pretty good sweet and sour ready meal from Sainsbury’s. Not usually a big fan of sweet and sour but I wanted to give it a try and it was good. Would recommend!
The sweet chilli is a bit too sweet 😅, but liked the tofu rice
Unfortunately the taste just wasn’t for me, not a fan personally. The sweet and sour sauce was soo pineapply it tasted of pure pinapppe juice, nothing else. The egg fried rice was really nice however. Good portion size and concept though. £2.75
