Okay okay vegan and non, but open minded vegans! Hold up! Stop what you’re doing!

This product is THE BEST!!! It’s my new favorite meat replacement. Too bad it’s expensive, buuuut there’s 400grams in there, which is amazing. And unlike actual meat, it doesn’t shrink when being cooked. 19grams of protein per 100grams, before you ask where I get my protein from (referring about naive meat eaters 😝). I made burger patties. The texture is out of this world! So thank you Naturli for making such an amazing product. I think I’ll move to Denmark now to get them for cheaper.

I’m a huge Naturlí fan, I literally live on their vegan butter (which is not

margarine, I reviewed it a few months ago), so when I found this at Sainsburys I was very excited. It’s not the first vegan mincemeat of this kind that I try honestly, for example I used and liked a lot Meatfree Farm as well, and I can’t really tell which one is the best! Probably because they’re both very good.

It’s a little scary that it resembles real mincemeat so much, but I think it’s more for omnivores. Not a coincidence that I found this product at the beginning of the meat aisle, as Sainsburys is trying to push omnivores towards plant-based meat.

Anyway, this mincemeat is great for making meatballs, bolognese ragu or lasagne (see photo 😄), its texture and taste are 100% accurate and in general it’s really versatile.

I bought it for £3 and will definitely buy it again for the festive period as I have a few recipes I want to make.

We used this pea-based mince to make spaghetti bolognese, and it worked really well. The

mince broke up easily in cooking, and had a good soft texture when it was done. It didn’t hold its form much, but it worked well because we made the bolognese with lentils and grated carrot and courgette as well. It doesn’t have much flavour on its own but with added seasoning it’s great. I’m not normally a big fan of imitation meat products, but I would definitely have this again. The 400g packet was £3 in Sainsbury’s which is quite a lot, but it’s worth it and from a good company.

I made a demiglace hamburger steak. Onions and grated carrots, garlic, ginger, salt and

black pepper. The binder is oatmeal soaked in soy milk. I was surprised at the texture of the meat itself !! Next, I plan to make meat sauce.
