#ditchdairy #vegan #veganisnotscary #nafsikasgarden #nongmocertified #glutenfree #soyfree #vegancheese #productofgreece This is my 1,500th review on this abillion app. 🎉 I can’t believe how many I’ve written. When I first started years ago, I wondered at that time, how I’d ever reach 100 reviews. Never mind 1,500 reviews! I’m so happy to be making this contribution to the vegan community while also raising funds for some well-deserved organizations. An ex-girlfriend who’s trying to reduce her dairy / cheese consumption picked up this vegan / plant-based cheese from Highland Farms. I don’t know how much she paid. When she noticed this was a Greek product, she bought it without hesitation (her background is Greek). The cheddar cheese is in the form of a block, just as other brands offer. If you didn’t know, this was plant-based cheese, you just wouldn’t know. The taste, texture, scent, and appearance are identical to dairy-based cheddar. I was quite impressed with the taste. It tasted exactly like cheddar cheese! My ex-girlfriend was also very impressed. Unlike the plant-based provolone cheese (also by Nafsika’s Garden - reviewed prior to this one), the cheddar cheese didn’t offer any scent / smell, or at least not anything strong. Unfortunately, this plant-based cheese offers no nutritional benefit and contains a lot of salt (about 1/5th of the block provides 14% of your days recommended sodium). This is better than Nafsika’s plant-based provolone. I would not go to Highland Farms just to get this cheese, so I do wish it will one day be available at No Frills or Metro.
