Plant-Based Sausages

Sono apparse da poco qui in Romania queste salsicce. Ci sono piaciute, mi hanno ricordato un po’ le salsicce al pollo/tacchino, hanno anche una pellicina sottile e croccantina, sono piuttosto pepate. Il prezzo è un po’ alto rispetto alle altre salsicce che prendiamo di solito, le ricomprerei più volentieri magari scontate.

They go so well with potatoes, ketchup, mayo and mustard! Can make them so fast in an air fryer. Or just a pan.

I’ve apparently lost an unhealthy amount of weight this week 😅 so I’m trying to load up on high protein foods like this. Drinking a bad can of Coca-Cola a few days ago certainly has not been helping too much 😴 I’ve heard so much about these #sausages from other vegans that I just had to get it when I saw it in stock at Everyday vegan grocer! First off the bat is their texture and flavour; phenomenal really 😋 Every #sausage feels super “full”, if that makes sense. It’s like they managed to pack more sausage in every #vegansausage 🌱 The texture though, I’m not sure if I got it right. The box says to cook them 15 excruciating minutes on medium heat and even at low, I managed to over-char them. I cooked the first sausage in a jippy cause who has 15 minutes to spare to cook sausages? Not this queen 💅 It tastes just fine “undercooked” actually, at least for this gremlin 🧌 Even charred though, they look similar enough to what they look like on the box, if not slightly darker. I’m pinning the blame on the old pots and pans of my current apartment though for that. Would I get it again? Yes, absolutely. I’ve seen a number of complaints about it being pricey, but at least in Singapore they are a fraction of the cost to the likes of Beyond Meat. I just won’t recommend it for a #lazyvegan though 😉
