Hmm. Chestnuts... It's only since we've been living in Swabia that I've acquired a taste for them. A hearty dish was accompanied by red cabbage and caramelised chestnuts. It was simply heavenly. That's why we have them now and then. Today they are part of a stuffing for cabbage rolls. I am curious about the result. The chestnuts are pre-cooked and vacuum-packed. They can be processed and eaten immediately. The consistency is firm and a little mealy. The taste is nutty and sweet. Simply good. #chestnut #nutlover
